Younten Phuntsho: National Forest Inventory of Bhutan

Younten Phuntsho gives a lecture entitled “National Forest Inventory of Bhutan: Challenges Faced and Experiences Gained” as part of a graduate student panel for the Yale Himalaya Initiative Fall 2017 series.
Younten is a mid-career MEM Candidate at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Phuntsho work as a Senior Forestry Officer for Department of Forests and Park Services, Royal Government of Bhutan. For the previous seven and half years, he has been involved in conducting the National Forest Inventory (NFI) of Bhutan as one of the National Coordinators. His interests are in climate change, forest resource assessment, valuation of natural resources, and forest resource planning and management.
