Anwesha Dutta: Political Economy of Illegal Timber Extraction in Assam, India

Anwesha Dutta gives a lecture entitled “Constellations of Sovereignty and the Political Economy of Illegal Timber Extraction in BTAD, Assam” as part of a graduate student panel for the Yale Himalaya Initiative Fall 2017 series.
 
Anwesha is a final-year doctoral researcher in Conflict and Development Studies at Ghent University in Belgium. Currently, she is a visiting research scholar in anthropology at Yale University. Her work focuses on ethnic conflict, illegal resource extraction, political economy and ecology and issues related to land and forests on the Indo-Bhutan border.
